Barking Dogs Gallery, well the name that is, came about when visitors would drop by the studio and my two dogs ( the welcoming committee ) would bark, howl and carry on non stop.. a good chunk of discussion would revolve around their histrionics.. then the noise would cease as if a wand had been waved.. and art discussion would take over..
My name is Vanessa Oter. I have a honours degree in painting (first Class) from RMIT 1992 -1994 & 2005-2006.
I’ve traveled extensively all over the world, spending a good 4 years in NYC painting and exhibiting my work in various galleries in Soho and Chelsea.
I now live in Gippsland, Victoria with my son Luka and our now 4 dogs.... painting is still a primary form of expression for me but I’ve also developed a love for sewing cushions. I also stock my little shop in Wonthaggi with handmade wares from local artisans and creatives..
BARKING DOGS GALLERY is located in the Plaza Arcade in Wonthaggi on Graham st.
